Deviousness |
The pose is interesting to look at, not only because it's refreshingly unique and unusual, but because it somehow manages to look tangled, twisted and warped, and yet, at the same time, rather harmonious and balanced - there's balance and elegance in the tilts and bends. I'm reminded of a swastika symbol, or a mighty, Atlas-like titan kneeling down and holding up the sky on its shoulders!
I like the red marks on the figure's legs. They're pretty in their simplicity, and it's interesting to see how they mark out the shape of the legs. Also, the red of the marks and the hair goes well with the black in this picture, and the limited pallete of colours makes the picture look more simple - and thus nicer to look at, in my opinion.
The hair-style and make-up have been applied really well - they're all so neat. The make-up is so vibrant, and the red, black and white around the eyes go together beautifully.
I have to admit that the hair style looks quite silly, but I suppose I quite like its strangeness. Plus, its red colour is very deep and pretty, and I'm interested to know how that fringe didn't flop down towards the right of the figure's face, the way gravity intended - the hair must have been sprayed or starched or something, but it still looks really loose!
The way the light reflects off the coat and shoe is very pretty. It's so interesting to look at all the different levels of light glowing off all the intricate creases!
The light in the background is pleasantly radiant. It adds some nice variety to the background, and some contrast to the darkness of most of the rest of the photo.
In fact, one of the main things that makes this picture interesting to look at is the shadows. The main figure is very visually interesting, but the vibrant shadows in the background tie the whole image together - and they also look great themselves. I like how there are several different shades of shadow on the floor, and how the shadows on the wall are nice and soft, and gently merge from dark to lighter.
It's strange to see that this picture is hidden by a 'Mature Content' warning. I don't see anything wrong or shocking about it.
I notice that you've classified this as a picture which displays a fetish. Well, the people who look at this photo are either going to be people who have a fetish for black leather (or weird hairstyles... or angled limbs... or high-rise platform shoes... or something) or they're going to be people who don't have that fetish. If the spectator has the fetish, then allow them to look at the picture and satisfy their tastes. There's nothing wrong with that. If the spectator doesn't have the fetish, then... well, there's nothing disgusting or immoral or scary going on in this photo. There's just someone wearing a shiny coat and patform shoes in an interesting pose. It's elegant and artistic. I don't think even a young child would be disturbed by this. So, there seems to be nothing wrong with allowing people who don't have the fetish to look at this picture, either.
Then again, I suppose that displaying a fetish is a sexual thing to do. Maybe the sexual undertones of this photo is why it was hidden and had a warning put on it.
