The perfect portrait shot for a movie or book. An ice princess, with a story to tell. Her heart is not as cold as she wants you to believe and her eyes betray that. The monochrome colours kept subtle with hints of blue from the jewelery and make up make an exquisite scheme. The lighting enforces the idea that she has perhaps two sides to herself as the one side of the face is more highlighted while the other is given a a shadow. To enhance her role however as a child of winter, I would've adjusted the lighting a bit to perhaps capture the jewelery and their sparkle just a bit more (not so much to distract us) to get that crystal, just fresh fallen snow look. Overall, a stunning piece and worthy of a DD in my opinion.
At first glance I had to think of the princess from the book "The Neverending Story". Because of the slightly High-Key nature of the image, it has been given a fragility that is countered by the somewhat stony demeanour of the girl. This does not reduce the stunning atmosphere of the shot, on the contrary, it enhances it completely.
The pastel like colours add a softness to the image as a whole, but are kept in check by the clear lines and precise sharpness of the image.
This is a perfect example of a very professional combination of being able to work not only with the light but getting the model (who deserves a mention here for her work, very well done) to enhance the mood with her expression. Well done all round here. An excellent piece of work in my eyes.
